Trader Joe’s Recalls Prepared Barbecue Chicken Salad

Trader Joe’s has issued a recall on 5,610 pounds of prepared barbecue chicken salads because of possible listeria bacteria contamination. The United States Department of Agriculture stated the salads were made with diced onions that may have been contaminated but no illnesses have been reported yet.

The salads were sold in 14.5 ounce packages with a use by date through July 30 and contained the establishment number “P-11079″. The salads were distributed in Nevada, Texas, Southern California, Arizona and New Mexico.

People infected may encounter symptoms that include nausea, diarrhea, muscle aches and fever.
